Worship Services

Worship at Spirit of Joy is central to our community!

Expression of that worship ranges from Traditional Lutheran Communion Liturgy to Contemporary Worship with modern music to Youth-led Worship.

We offer occasional worship experiences in:

  • healing services
  • renewing of marriage vows
  • first communion for children
  • baptismal services
  • and many seasonal worship services and special events

Our pool and fountain on the property provide a great backdrop for special events such as baptisms or a marriage service.

If you are looking for a church community that is welcoming to all, you might pray to see if God is leading you to Spirit of Joy. We are actively worshipping every Sunday morning at 1159 North Greenfield Road in Gilbert (located on the east side of the road between Baseline and Guadalupe Roads).

Sunday Morning Worship Times

TRADITIONAL LUTHERAN SERVICE: 8:30 am
At Spirit of Joy, our Traditional Lutheran Worship Service uses Lutheran expressions of liturgy centered around the Word of God and includes open communion every Sunday.  Favorite hymns, choral music, vocal choirs, and bell choirs help equip all to focus on the Sacred.

LEARNING HOUR: 9:30 am – 10:20 am
During the Gathering Hour, we find time to either be in fellowship with each other or participate in one of our Learning Events.  Families are encouraged to participate in our Cross Gen class where you will be led to share in God’s Word as family and encouraged to continue your learning in your own homes.  We also have adult educational classes led by experienced leaders of the church focusing on many areas of spiritual growth.

CONTEMPORARY PRAISE SERVICE: 10:30 am
Spirit of Joy’s Contemporary Praise Service invites all people to express their faith, praise and worship to God  through the use of interactive contemporary music, in the hearing and responding to relevant messages, and participation in open communion every Sunday.

PRAYER and HEALING SERVICES: 5th Sunday of every month at all Worship Services
We all need prayers of healing. But if you would like to have the pastor take your private request and pray for you, privately, please be sure to attend this service where you are invited to come forward for prayers of healing through the laying on of hands.

This special time is built into our regular worship service and is open to all individuals or families.
